Standby Power (ESP) refers to the maximum power output available for use in the event of a utility failure. It is intended for limited hours of use per year with variable load. Prime Power (PRP) is the maximum power available for an unlimited number of hours per year with variable load. For example, the TC30 offers 30 KVA / 24 KW standby and 27 KVA / 22 KW prime power.

The TC series generator sets are powered by Cummins engines across the full range, including the 4B, 4BT, 4BTA, 6BT, 6BTA, 6BTAA, 6CTA, 6CTAA, 6LTAA, NTA855, KTA19, KTAA19, KT38, KTA38, and KTA50 engine families, covering displacements from 3.9L up to 50.3L to suit different power requirements.

The Open Type generator set has no enclosure and is typically used in indoor or sheltered installations where noise and weather protection are not required. The Canopy Type (also called soundproof or enclosed type) features a protective housing that reduces noise levels and provides weather protection, making it suitable for outdoor use or noise-sensitive environments. The canopy version is generally larger in dimensions than the open type.

To select the correct model, first calculate your total connected load in KW or KVA. Then determine whether you need standby or prime power operation. Add a safety margin of approximately 20–25% to your calculated load. For example, if your load is 80 KW prime power, the TC100 (94 KVA / 75 KW prime) or TC115 (105 KVA / 84 KW prime) would be appropriate choices.
