A First, calculate your total connected load in KW or KVA. If the generator is for emergency backup use, select a model whose Standby Power (KVA/KW) meets or exceeds your load. For continuous or primary power applications, use the Prime Power rating as your reference. Always factor in a safety margin of at least 20–25% above your calculated load.
