ESP (Emergency Standby Power) is the maximum power available for use in the event of a utility failure, typically rated for up to 200 hours per year with a variable load. PRP (Prime Rated Power) is the power available for continuous operation with a variable load for an unlimited number of hours per year. PRP is generally around 10% lower than ESP for the same generator model.

An Open Type genset has no enclosure, making it more compact and lower in cost, but it is not weather-proof and is typically installed indoors or in a dedicated generator room. A Canopy Type (also called a Silent or Soundproof type) genset is enclosed in a weather-resistant acoustic canopy, reducing noise levels significantly and allowing outdoor installation. The canopy dimensions listed in the table are larger than the open type accordingly.

To select the right genset, first calculate your total load requirements in KW or KVA. If the generator is for emergency backup use, choose a model whose ESP rating meets or exceeds your load. If it will run continuously as a prime power source, use the PRP rating as your reference. Consider also the installation environment — choose a Canopy Type for outdoor or noise-sensitive locations. The TB series gensets use engines from the 4M, 6M, 12M, 16M, and 20M engine families as indicated in the Engine Model column of the specification table. These engines span displacements from 2.3L (smaller models such as TB20–TB55) up to 65.65L (TB2750), ensuring reliable performance across the full power range from 20 KVA to 2750 KVA.
